          Warning
Warning If you don’t use person accounts, contact Salesforce Customer Support to turn on creating contacts instead of leads. This change is irreversible.

When you opt to create person accounts instead of leads, the system first checks that the account doesn't exist already as a lead or contact. If no matching record is found, the system creates the person account.

Before you turn on person accounts, review these guidelines.

          • You can't define sync settings prospect-by-prospect.
          • Make sure that the connector user has Create permissions on the Account object in Salesforce.
          1. Open the Salesforce Connector page.
            • In Account Engagement, select Admin and then select Connectors. Click gear icon next to the Salesforce Connector, and select Edit.
            • In the Lightning app, select Account Engagement Settings and then Connectors. Click gear icon next to the Salesforce connector, and select Edit Settings.
          2. Select Sync Prospects with Person Accounts.
          3. Review the prompt, and then click Enable.
          4. Select Create Person Accounts Instead of Leads.
          5. Enter a default person account record type.
          6. Save your changes.
