Account Engagement can sync with Salesforce person accounts.

Available in: All Account Engagement Editions

How you sync with person accounts depends on whether you use Salesforce leads.

          Note
Note Person accounts can be used simultaneously with company accounts.

Syncing with Leads and Person Accounts

Account Engagement usually creates prospect records in Salesforce as leads. However, after a lead is converted into a person account, that record is synced instead and no other leads are created for the prospect.

With this syncing arrangement, a single Salesforce person account record combines two records: a prospect record and a prospect account record. The two records remain separate in Account Engagement. Field mapping remains the same.

Contact-level fields map to prospect fields, and Salesforce account-level fields map to prospect account fields. However, the account owner syncs to both the Assigned User field on the prospect account and the Assigned User field on the prospect. The CRM ID of the Salesforce record that converted to a person account displays under the Contact ID field on the prospect record.

          Using Person Accounts Without Leads

When a prospect that isn’t already synced to Salesforce is assigned, it creates a person account in Salesforce instead of a lead.

A Salesforce person account syncs to a prospect record that is associated with a business account in Account Engagement. The two records aren’t combined into one view as in Salesforce.

The field mappings remain the same. Contact fields map to prospect fields, and Salesforce account-level fields map to company account fields in Account Engagement. The Contact ID for the Salesforce contact that has become the Person Account appears on the prospect record.
