Best Practices for the Salesforce Connector
Although not critical to a successful connector setup, these references and tasks can help you make the most out of your Salesforce connector implementation.
- Using Account Engagement with Clickjack Protection
If your Salesforce org has clickjack protection enabled, the Account Engagement tab that’s installed with the Account Engagement AppExchange package is blank. To display the components in Salesforce, you can either disable clickjack protection or create a tab that is compatible with clickjack protection. - Salesforce Connector Settings
These settings are available when adding or editing the Salesforce connector. - Automatically Merge and Delete Prospects
You can control how Account Engagement treats prospects when records are merged or deleted in Salesforce. Merging and deleting prospects operates differently in each system. - Default Account Object Field Mapping
To facilitate syncing between systems, certain account object field mappings are created when you verify your Salesforce connector in Account Engagement. By default, Salesforce is the primary system. - Default Prospect Field Mapping
To facilitate syncing between systems, certain prospect fields are mapped to lead or contact records when you verify your Salesforce connector in Account Engagement. In most cases, Salesforce is the primary system. - Account Engagement AppExchange Package Field Definitions
The Account Engagement (Pardot) package adds fields to your Salesforce org. You can view the Account Engagement fields by navigating to Installed Packages in Setup. - Copy Account Fields to Contact Fields
To sync account record fields to Account Engagement, copy the fields to related contacts and trigger a sync. - Manage Marketing Content in Salesforce
In Salesforce, you can configure access to the landing pages, marketing forms, and marketing links that users create in Account Engagement. To make this content available in Salesforce, configure settings in Lightning Experience Object Manager or the Object Management Settings in Salesforce Classic. - Map a Checkbox Field to a Salesforce Multi-Select Field
You can map a checkbox field from Account Engagement to a Salesforce picklist (multi-select) field. If you edit an existing Account Engagement custom field or manually enter the values, make sure that the values match exactly in both systems. - Integrate Account Engagement with Salesforce Queues
To use Account Engagement for lead assignment without disrupting your existing workflow, integrate it with Salesforce lead queues. - Set Up Send as CRM User
You can send Account Engagement emails from any Salesforce user associated with a prospect record by creating a custom field. - Pause the Salesforce Connector v2
An Account Engagement admin can pause syncing to make configuration or data changes that could impact the data that syncs. Pausing the connector temporarily stops the flow of data until you resume syncing. It doesn’t make any permanent changes and doesn’t archive your business unit. - Data Skew and Account Engagement
When a record is associated with too many other records, it’s possible to experience issues from data skew. Data skew can cause many systemic problems, such as slow processing times, syncing issues, and interruptions to activity tracking.
