          Sales Emails and Alerts Filter Criteria

          You can define your own criteria to get a targeted list of prospects in real time. The criteria is based on prospect attributes that you’re interested in, such as what kinds of marketing materials they have interacted with, or what territory they are in.

          Filters combine three basic types of criteria together to filter your prospects: leads and contacts, activities, and geography.

          Leads and Contacts Criteria

          Users can choose from these options in the Leads & Contacts Criteria section.

          • Only my assigned leads and contacts
          • Identified company website visitors that haven’t been matched with a lead or contact

          Admins and users with a custom role that includes the View prospects not assigned to self-permission can include all leads and contacts.

          Activity Criteria

          The Activity Criteria filter sorts prospects based on their activities. Choose from various prospect activities.

          • Page views
          • File downloads
          • Paid search clicks
          • Forms
          • Webinars and events
          • Site search
          • Email clicks
          • One-to-one email opens
          • All email opens

          Selecting multiple activities pulls prospects who match any of the criteria. For example, if you select forms and file downloads, the filter returns visitors that have filled out a form, downloaded a file, or done both. If you don’t select any activity, all activity is included.

          Geographic Criteria

          The Geographic Criteria filter sorts prospects based on where they’re located.

          • When Leads & Contacts criteria is set to Identified company website visitors that haven’t been matched with a lead or contact, location is pulled from the WHOIS data associated with the visitor.
          • When Leads & Contacts criteria is set to All leads and contacts or Only my assigned leads and contacts, location is pulled from the prospect’s Country and State fields.

          Filter by groups of countries, individual countries, or individual U.S. states, territories, and Canadian provinces. Selecting multiple locations pulls prospects that match any of the criteria. For example, if you add European Union, United States, and Alabama, the filter returns prospects located anywhere in the European Union, United States, or Alabama. If you don’t select any geographic criteria, all locations are included.
