SMS Code Provisioning Guidelines
Only local business entities can use an Ecuador short code for two-way sends that support marketing and transactional sends. Otherwise, international businesses can only use an international long code for transaction purposes, such as MFA sends, social media notifications, or international financial company notifications. International customers sending messages that include URLs must get this content approved and allowlisted:
Network carriers require local companies maintain short code monthly sending rates of at least 100,000 sends per month to keep that code active. We recommend planning your sending rate as soon as possible before procuring a short code. Use separate codes for marketing and transactional sending.
Conduct marketing sends from Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM (UTC−05:00). Don’t send marketing SMS messages on weekends.
Marketing content is initially delivered from the 9107 short code to Claro numbers only. Subsequent messages arrive from your short code. Make sure that your call-to-action messages refer to your short code initially to make sure that your initial reply is routed correctly.
Marketing SMS messages must include the enterprise or brand name in the message body. Opt-in can come from any channel, but you must demonstrate proof of opt-in for any complaint. STOP keywords must be set up on the short code for processing SMS opt-out requests. Include SMS HELP keyword messages in your program
