          Field Type Limitations

          Field type Limitations
Document Agents can read images, PDF, CSV, .xlsx, .docx, and .pptx files. They can’t read document links. Agents can create .docx, PDF, and CSV files. .docx output requires an existing template.
People Agents can’t create new workspace users. They can only select existing users, and they do this by email address (for example, alex@company.com) instead of by display name.
Role Agents can’t change role assignments. They can select users who already have that role, using email address.
Signature Agents can’t fill signature fields.
Data source Agents can select up to 100 rows from a data source field. To set up a data source for AI agent use when configuring the data source, select Allow AI agents to access this data source. Learn more in Using Data Sources in Agentforce Supply Chain

          Design Considerations

          • Because agents execute a structured plan, tasks with conditional step logic can be unreliable. Move conditional branching to stage logic when possible. For example, don't create a task with this description: If supplier is outside the US, calculate tariff. Instead, split into separate stage paths so the tariff task runs only when 'Supplier Country' is not USA.
          • Agents can only use data explicitly shared in the task. They can't access information from other tasks automatically.
