Add the Request Approval Component to Experience Cloud Sites
Add the Request Approvals component to an object details page layout in Experience
Builder. Credentialed Experience Cloud site visitors can submit a record for approval by using the
component. Configure the component so that submitters can select an approver and add submission
comments.
Create and Set Up Experiences AND View Setup and Configuration
To customize an Experience Cloud site:
Be a member of the site AND Create and Set Up Experiences
OR
Be a member of the site AND View Setup and Configuration AND an experience admin,
publisher, or builder in that site
To publish an Experience Cloud site:
Be a member of the site AND Create and Set Up Experiences
OR
Be a member of the site AND an experience admin or publisher in that site
Before you add the Request Approval component to an object details page, design an
autolaunched flow approval process. Consider the input that you want from credentialed site
visitors. To require credentialed site visitors to select an approver, assign one or more
approval steps to the firstApprover input variable. To expose submitter
comments to approvers, use the submissionComments input variable. Test and
activate the flow approval process.
In Experience Builder, go to the relevant object details page.
From the Components tab, in the quick find box, search for
Request.
From the Components panel, drag the Request Approval onto the
page.
The Request Approval panel opens.
(Optional) For Title, change the default text of Request Approval to the component title
for credentialed site visitors at run time.
For Flow Approval Process, search for and select the active, autolaunched flow approval
process to run when a credentialed site visitor clicks Start.
For Flow Approval Process Label, enter a label to identify the associated flow approval
process to credentialed site visitors.
To prevent a credentialed site visitor from adding comments about a submission, select
Hide submitter comments. The component shows an Approval Request
Comments field by default.
To require a credentialed site visitor to select an approver, select Require
submitter to select an approver.
Consider whether the flow approval process you selected in step 6 assigns one or more steps
to the firstApprover resource. If it does, select Require
submitter to select an approver to prevent the flow approval process from failing
when a credentialed site visitor uses this component.
Save your work.
