Create a Segment-Triggered Flow
Create a segment-triggered flow that runs on a schedule and sends messages to a segment of people. You can set a segment-triggered flow to run once, either immediately or at a specific time and date, or you can set the flow to run on a recurring schedule.

Open the Flows list view.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then select Flows.
- From the Automation app, select the Flows tab.
- From the Flows tab in any Lightning app, click the actions menu and select Open Flow.

Create a segment-triggered flow.
- From the Automation app or Flows tab, click New. Search for and select Segment-Triggered Flow.
- From Setup, click New Flow. Search for and select Segment-Triggered Flow.
The Configure automation properties panel opens. -
For Data Space, select default or another data space you've set
up.

Optionally, for Data Graph, select the data graph you want to use.
To learn about data graphs, see Data Graphs.The flow opens in Flow Builder.

Schedule when you want the flow to run.
- Click +Set Schedule.
- Specify whether to run the flow once or on a recurring basis.
- Specify whether to start the flow at a specific date and time, or to run immediately.
- If sending the flow once immediately, close the Set a Schedule panel. Otherwise, set the date, time, and time zone.
- If sending the flow once at a specific date and time, close the Set a Schedule panel. Otherwise, set how often to run the flow and whether you want it to run on weekends.
- Set the re-entry conditions for the recipients.
- Close the Set a Schedule panel.

Specify the recipients that receive the messages.
- Click the Start element.
- Click +Select Segment.

Select the segment of recipients that you want to use.
To learn about segments, see Create Segments in Data 360. For Data 360 API activation, pick a segment that's built on the data model object you selected for activation membership during API activation creation.
- Specify when to update the segment information. Segment data updates whenever it's republished. To keep the segment’s normal publishing schedule, select On the segment’s publish schedule. To override the segment’s publishing schedule and republish the segment before the flow runs, select Immediately before running this flow.

Select an Activation Template.
If the segment type is Unified Individual, this step is optional. To learn more about activation templates, see Activation Templates in Salesforce Help.
- Optionally, set the contact point priority order for the flow to use with each individual that's referenced in the flow. To learn about contact points and priority order, see Contact Points and Source Priority Order.

Optionally, set exit rules for when a segment member should leave the flow and stop getting
messages.
- Next to Exit Rules, click Edit.
- Click +Add Exit Rule.
- Add conditions for when a segment member should stop receiving messages from the flow.

Click
and select Action. In the action panel, add elements to your flow to perform the
actions you want. For example, to send an email, add a Send Email Message element. To use an
API activation, add a Send to Data 360 Activation element. You can add
multiple Send to Data 360 Activation elements to a flow. For more
information about elements available only for marketing flows, like segment-triggered flows,
see Flow Builder

- Save the flow.
- Test the flow using debug and then activate it.
