Use AI to summarize new flows, existing flows, and even flows that
AI helped you create. Generate summaries of varying lengths to understand
what your flows are about and what they do. AI summarizes flows in as much
detail as you need. Add the flow summary to the flow description, so anyone can understand how the
flow works.
This feature requires the Foundations or Agentforce 1 editions. To purchase, contact
your Salesforce account executive.
User Permissions Needed
To open, edit, create, activate or
deactivate a flow using all flow types, elements, and features available in Flow
Builder, including Einstein and Agentforce for Flow:
Short: The summary provides a brief description of what the flow does
in one or two sentences and includes references to any subflows.
Standard: The summary provides a high-level overview of the flow.
Standard summaries include information about modified objects and the subflows that the flow
refers to.
Longer: The summary describes all the flow steps and includes the
input and output variables, the objects that the flow changes, and the subflows that the flow
refers to. This is the default summary type.
Summarize a Flow in Flow Builder
Find the flow that you want to summarize and open it in Flow Builder.
In the AI panel, click Summarize Flow.
If the AI panel isn't visible, click the AI icon
in the menu bar. .
AI generates a Longer flow summary by default.
To change the length of the generated summary, click Make Shorter
or Make Longer, depending on the current summary type.
Add the Summary to a Flow Description
To add the AI-generated summary to the flow description, click
Add to Description.
If the flow has an existing description, you can update it with the summarized version.
To update the flow description of a flow definition with the summarized version, first
click under the summarized flow, and then click . Paste the summarized version under Description and edit as needed.
Click Done.
Summarize Subflows Referenced by Main Flows
The main flow summary provides a concise overview of the subflows in the context of the
main flow. To generate a detailed summary of each subflow and add the summary to the subflow
description, click the link to the subflow and summarize the subflow separately.
Summarize the main flow that contains one or more subflows.
Open the subflow reference in its own Flow Builder window.
Click Summarize Flow.
