Create a Slack Canvas Action

Creates a canvas in Slack. A Slack canvas is a surface built into Slack where you can create and share fully-formatted content.

Required Editions

View supported editions.

In Flow Builder, add an Action element to your flow. In the New Action window, select Slack, and then select Create a Slack Canvas.

Usage

To use this action, first connect Salesforce and Slack, and set the Create a Canvas Workflow Builder step in Slack to Everyone. The user you set as the canvas owner can manage access permissions in Slack to share it with others.

Set Slack Canvas Details

Input Parameter Description
Title Title for your new canvas.
Owner Slack ID The Slack user ID of the canvas owner. Find Slack user IDs using the Look Up a Slack User Action action or open a user profile and click Copy member ID.

Store Output Values

OUTPUT Parameter Description
Canvas ID Unique ID for the Slack canvas.
Canvas Permalink Unique URL used to share the canvas in Slack.
