Send emails to your customers, partners, and employees automatically in a flow. There
are several different ways to send an email from a flow depending on who you want to send your
email to and how you want your email content to look. Determine the best way to send your email
based on the functionality that you need.
Important After migrating flows, always review and reconfigure
the Send Email action to reference the new record IDs in the target Salesforce org. This
step is crucial to avoid broken references and ensure that email delivery functions
correctly.
Send an Email from a Flow Send an email from a flow by adding your email content directly in the Send Email action. You can send an email to any email address, and use merge fields from any object.
Send an Email from a Flow Using an Existing Email Template Send an email from a flow using an existing email template that's created before you create the flow. With Email templates, you can reuse your email content in multiple flows. You can send emails to contacts, leads, or person accounts, and you can use merge fields from the recipient, the recipient's organization, and the sender records.
Send Emails with a Flow Using Text Templates Text templates create reusable email content with dynamic merge fields from any record. Send emails to any address and reuse the same template across multiple flow actions. This approach offers more flexibility than the standard Send Email body field.
Send an Email from a Flow Using an Existing Email Alert If you're using an email alert in a Workflow Process or Process Builder process, you can use the existing email alert in a flow. The email alert works the same whether it's triggered by a flow, a Workflow Rule, or a Process Builder process.
Send a Plain Text Email from a Flow Send a quick internal plain text email from a flow. If you don't want any formatting or merge fields in your email, you can enter plain text right into a Send Email action in a flow. Your recipient can be any email address, including a secondary email address on a record.
Send an Email from a Flow with an Attachment Create a flow to send an email from a flow with an attached file. This allows you to include files stored in Salesforce in your emails.
Send and Log an Email from a Flow Send and log an email to a contact record or a related account record from a flow using an email template that's created before you create the flow .
