Keep your users informed about which stage they’re in and how far they’ve progressed in
a screen flow. Create stages to designate steps in the flow, and use a progress indicator to
show all the stages and highlight the stage that the user is in.
Note The standard progress indicator requires Lightning runtime.
To set up flow stages and a progress indicator, complete these steps.
Planning the Stages of Your Flow Progress indictors show your flow stages to the running user. Before you start adding stages to your flow, plan for all the possible stages that you want your running users to see in a progress indicator.
Create Flow Stages After you plan the stages for each path of your flow, configure the stages so that they show up in a progress indicator on your flow’s screen elements that your users can see.
Set Up a Progress Indicator To show users their progress through your flow, you can show your flow stages by using the standard progress indicator or create your own custom progress indicator component to show your flow stages.
Show Stages in a Progress Indicator After you create your stages and enable a progress indicator in your flow, it’s time to get them to work together. You can keep it simple and use the standard functionality to show the same progress indicator stages throughout your flow, and set the highlighted current stage on each screen element. Or you can get more advanced and add or remove the stages shown in the progress indicator, depending on what path the flow takes. You can also set the current stage between screens.
Show Screen Flow Stages in a Progress Indicator Example This example creates a custom progress indicator stage that guides users through a multi-step process. By creating clear stages and assigning them to screen elements, you can enhance user experience and ensure that users understand their progress and next steps.
