          Managing and Monitoring Flows

          Managing and Monitoring Flows

Monitor your org’s usage of flows and processes. See a list of paused interviews and scheduled actions from processes. Control who can view and how they view monitoring information for flows and processes.

          • How Flows Run in Transactions
Flows run within transactions that group operations as a single unit. When any operation fails, the entire transaction rolls back to maintain data integrity. This includes Apex triggers, escalation rules, and all flow interviews in the transaction.
          • Flow Bulkification in Transactions
When a flow runs for multiple records at the same time — such as when you import 100 cases — Salesforce creates one flow interview per record. Bulkification groups similar operations across those interviews so the transaction completes efficiently without hitting governor limits.
          • Flow Interviews
A flow interview is a running instance of a flow. A flow is an application built by your administrator that asks you for inputs and does something in Salesforce based on those inputs.
          • Control Your Views of Flows, Paused Interviews, and Scheduled Actions
You have two options for viewing flows, paused flow interviews, and scheduled actions from processes. We recommend using the enhanced option that you get by default. But you can switch to the other option, for example, to use a custom list view that you haven’t recreated with the enhanced option.
          • View Embedded Element Analytics and Detailed Insights
For active and previously run automation-event triggered, activation-triggered, and segment-triggered flows, element run data appears on the flow canvas. Access more detailed performance metrics on the element's Analytics tab and in the elements record's Analytics tab.
          • View Flow Run for Individual
Trace an individual's actual execution path through a completed flow run to troubleshoot issues, understand personalization outcomes, or investigate specific customer experiences.
          • View Flow Version Analytics
Monitor overall flow version performance with comprehensive analytics showing run statuses, individual progression, and detailed execution data in summary dashboards.
          • Screen Flows Report
See who’s running the screen flows that you build. From the Reports tab, use the Sample Flow Report: Screen Flow to discover flow interview execution counts and screen duration times and to review the status of a flow interview.
          • Log Flow Data Persistently to Data 360
Log flow run metrics persistently to Data 360, ensuring reliable and scalable data management. Set up persistent logging for record-triggered, platform event-triggered, schedule-triggered flows, and autolaunched flows.
          • View Flow Dependencies in the Automation App
Flow versions can call other flows from a Subflow element, and they can call flows and flow approval processes from an Action element. Flow approval process versions and orchestration versions rely on flows to run steps and evaluate complex conditions. To understand the relationships between a flow and the automations that it calls and that call it, view the Usage tab of the Flow Version page or the Flow page in the Automation app.
          • Compare Flow Versions to Track Changes
Quickly identify differences between any two flow versions of the same flow directly from Flow Builder or the Automation app. You can catch issues when modifying complex flows, review changes more efficiently, and maintain a clear view of changes. You can compare versions of autolaunched flows, screen flows, scheduled-triggered flows, platform event-triggered flows, and record-triggered flows.
          • View On-Canvas Element Run Data
View aggregated element run data for active and previously run flows directly on the canvas. Access more detailed performance metrics on the element's Analytics tab and in the elements record's Analytics tab. Embedded analytics aren’t available for screen flows or orchestrations.
