          Check for Duplicate Records

          Check for Duplicate Records

To prevent duplicate records, check for records that match a set of criteria and specify what happens if the flow finds matching records. Some field-level configurations and validations in your org override the settings in the Create Records element.

To check for duplicate records, enable Check for Matching Records. You can then specify the conditions to look for when checking for duplicate records.

If a Single Matching Record Exists

Decide what action to take if a single matching record is found.

          Select If you want to
Update the matching record Update the matching record with the values that you specified in the Create Records element.
Skip the matching record Skip the matching record and don't create or update any records.

          If Multiple Matching Records Exist

Decide what action to take if multiple matching records are found.

          Select If you want to
Update the most recently modified record Update the most recently modified matching record with the values that you specified in the Create Records element.
Skip all matching records Skip all of the matching records and don't create or update any records.
