Manage Permissions in the Permission Set and Permission Set Group Access Summaries

To help you manage your users’ permissions, you can see and update all object, user, field, and custom permissions that are enabled for a permission set or permission set group in its summary page. You can also manage which permission set groups the permission set is included in and vice versa.

Required Editions

Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Available in: all editions
User Permissions Needed
To view the permission set or permission set group summary: View Setup and Configuration
To edit the permission set or permission set group: Manage Profiles and Permission Sets
Note
Note In some situations, updates to the permission set or permission set group aren’t displayed immediately. To make sure you have the most up-to-date data, refresh the summary page in your browser.
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets. Or, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Set Groups, and then select Permission Set Groups.
  2. Select a permission set or permission set group.
  3. Click View Summary. To make sure you have the most up-to-date data, refresh the summary page.
  4. Review information about the permission set or permission set group. You can update a permission set's related permission set groups or the permission set group’s included permission sets by clicking Add or Remove. In the permission set summary, you can also edit the included permissions.

Keep these considerations about the summary page in mind:

  • In the Field Permissions tab, only fields whose access can be configured are displayed. Fields that don’t support field-level security aren’t displayed.
  • In the permission set summary, you can't add field permissions for custom fields on custom objects.
  • The permission set or permission set group can be referenced in other features not listed in this summary.
  • For standard permission sets, the Created Date is the Salesforce org’s creation date.
