Send Alerts When a Screen Flow Fails

To save time troubleshooting screen flows that fail, subscribe to the Flow Execution Error Event platform event. When a flow interview fails, Salesforce publishes a platform event message. In Process Builder, you can subscribe to the platform event and perform actions, such as posting to Chatter or sending custom notifications.

          Required Editions

Available in: Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          Important
Important Support and updates for Process Builder have ended as of December 31, 2025. This means that support won't be provided for any process and bugs in the Process Builder product won't be fixed. See Workflow Rules & Process Builder End of Support.

After December 31, 2025, existing processes continue to run, and you can activate, deactivate, and edit them; however, we recommend using Flow Builder. To migrate existing processes, plan your switch to Flow Builder and use the Migrate to Flow tool. For new automations, create flows in Flow Builder.

          1. Define the process properties to start when a platform event message is received.
          2. Configure a process trigger for a platform event.
          3. Add the process criteria.
          4. Create a Chatter post, or send a custom notification.
