View the Public Group Access Summary

View the Public Group Access Summary

With the Public Group Access Summary, see the sharing rules, report and dashboard folders, and list views where this public group is used to grant access. You can also see the other public groups that it’s added to. The public group can be referenced in other features not listed in this summary.

Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
User Permissions Needed
View the Public Group Access Summary: Manage Users
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Public Groups, and then select Public Groups.
  2. Select a public group and click View Summary.
  3. To see where the public group is referenced and the level of access its assigned members receive, click the various tabs. You see these features, which are shared with the public group directly or indirectly through nested groups.
    • Owner-based sharing rules
    • Criteria-based sharing rules
    • Report & dashboard folders
    • List views
    Note
    Note The Included in Public Groups tab displays the other public groups that this public group is added to.
  4. To sort objects for sharing rules and list views, click the Object Name dropdown list.
  5. To view sharing rules and list views for all objects, click the Object Name dropdown, in the owner-based sharing rules, criteria-based sharing rules, and list views tabs.
  6. To manage public group membership, add or remove members in the All Public Group Members section. For more information, see Manage Public Group Membership in Salesforce Help.
