Salesforce offers many types of user licenses to support different business needs. The appropriate license for a user depends on the functionality they need and whether they're an internal employee or external user. | Standard User Licenses | Grant Salesforce access to your internal users. Options include the Salesforce user license for users who need full CRM access and Platform user licenses for those who need access to custom apps but don’t use CRM objects. Learn More |
| Experience Cloud User Licenses | Similar to standard user licenses but used for external users. These licenses grant access to a community but not to your internal org. Learn More |
| Chatter User Licenses | Enable collaboration and communication for users in your org who don’t need access to standard Salesforce functionality. These licenses allow users to participate in Chatter feeds, groups, and file sharing, with different license types offering varying levels of access to other Salesforce objects and features. | Guest User and Site.com User Licenses | Guest User licenses are for public users who access your Site.com or Experience Cloud sites. Site.com Only licenses are for Performance, Unlimited, and Enterprise Edition users who need access to Site.com but not to standard CRM functionality. Learn More |
