Starting in Winter ’21, Lightning Sync isn’t available to new Salesforce orgs. Current
users must migrate to Einstein Activity Capture before Lightning Sync retires in 2027. Also, if
you use Lightning Sync with Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange Web Service (EWS), upgrade your
authentication method to Microsoft Graph now to avoid service disruption. Microsoft announced
that EWS is scheduled to retire in October 2026.

Upgrade Lightning Sync from Exchange Web Services to Microsoft Graph Microsoft announced the retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) for Microsoft Office 365 starting October 2026. Lightning Sync configurations that use EWS won’t sync data after this retirement. To avoid service disruption, upgrade to the Microsoft Graph authentication method in Lightning Sync setup now.
