Salesforce Document Generation
Represent complex business data with hierarchical bundles and grouped data. Protect documents and indicate their status with dynamic text watermarks. Navigate long documents efficiently with automatically updated tables of contents for DOCX and PDF outputs. Generate and preview documents from record pages and flows by using the Generate Document component. Add requests to active document generation batches without restarting batch jobs.
- Generate Documents with Hierarchical Bundles and Grouped Data
Transform data to capture hierarchical relationships, groupings, and calculated values in generated documents. For example, build nested product bundles and organize quote line groups with their associated line items for a clearer document output. Apply grouping logic, such as grouping by selling model, price range, or quantity conditions, to present data in meaningful sections. Apply formulas to derive calculated values. Improve document accuracy by using Context Services and Data Processing Engine (DPE) to process large datasets. - Protect and Categorize Documents with Dynamic Watermarking
Protect your documents and indicate their status by adding dynamic text watermarks during the document generation process. Automatically label documents as Draft, Internal Only, or with specific record data, and reduce the risk of unauthorized sharing or the accidental use of obsolete versions. This feature is available only for simple text. - Navigate Complex Documents with an Automated Table of Contents
Deliver a superior reading experience by automatically updating accurate, clickable tables of contents (ToC) for your DOCX and PDF documents. The automated ToC eliminates manual formatting by recognizing document hierarchies and calculates page numbers after data merging and dynamic content expansion. - Generate Documents from Record Pages and Flows
Generate and preview documents directly from record pages or flows by using the Generate Document Lightning Web Component. Add the component to a Lightning record page to generate and attach Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and PDF documents. Simplify setup, remove Omnistudio licensing dependencies, and extend document generation to more UI-driven use cases. This component supports merging up to 10 PDF files. - Add Document Generation Process Requests to Active Batches
Add Document Generation Process (DGP) requests to a Document Generation Batch Process (DGBP) even after the batch starts running. Continue updating batches in New, In Progress, or Queued status without waiting for the batches to complete. This enhancement provides flexibility for large or evolving workloads, and it reduces the requirement to recreate batches. You can’t update a DGBP with additional DGPs after the batch status changes to completed. Previously, you could only update batches in the new state.
