          Merge duplicate contacts using Salesforce Classic.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Salesforce Classic
          Available in: All Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To merge contacts: Delete on contacts
          To merge Customer Portal enabled contacts:

          Delete on contacts

          AND

          Edit Self-Service Users

          To merge partner portal enabled contacts:

          Delete on contacts

          AND

          Manage Partners

          1. From the Contacts related list of an account, click Merge Contacts.
          2. Select up to three contacts to merge. Use the search box to refine the list, or click All Contacts to view the full list of contacts. Click Next to continue.
          3. Select one contact as the principal record.
          4. If your organization uses a partner or customer portal, you can select which record you want to retain as the portal user. If you don’t want the merged contact to include a portal user, select Not a portal user.
          5. Select the fields values that you want to retain from each record. Fields with conflicting values are highlighted.
          6. Click Merge.
