Set Up Historical Data for Pipeline Forecast Charts
To give sales leaders the data they need when viewing forecasting charts, ensure that
historical trending is on for Forecasting Item. Also verify that the retention period is set
appropriately.

User Permissions Needed
To enable historical trending:
Customize Application
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Historical Trending, and
then select Historical Trending.
From the object list, select Forecasting Item.
For a complete chart experience, retain historical trending data for 13 months, which is
the default setting. This retention time allows for a full year’s worth of past forecasts in
the historical trending chart.
If historical trending isn’t enabled, select the option to enable it.
Save your changes.
