Considerations for Disabling Salesforce Forecasting Features
Before you disable any forecasting features, find out how data is affected.
Required Editions

| Available in: Professional, Performance, and Developer Editions and in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Sales |
Disabling certain functionality can result in purged quota and adjustment data, so consider exporting your data before disabling anything. When you complete your setting changes, you can import the data back into Salesforce. Exceptions:
- If you change your time period from monthly to quarterly or from quarterly to monthly, you can’t import your quota or adjustments data back into Salesforce. The existing values don’t align with your new periods.
- If you’ve enabled territory forecasts and you change any territory data, you can’t import your quota or adjustments data back into Salesforce. The existing values don’t align with the new territory data.
| If you... | These items are purged... |
|---|---|
| Turn off forecasts | Adjustments (your forecast hierarchy stays in place) |
| Deactivate a forecast type | Quotas and adjustments for that forecast type. For the best reporting experience, manually remove manager judgments for opportunities included in the forecast type. |
| Change adjustment settings | Adjustments |
| Change the monthly period to quarterly periods, or the quarterly period to monthly periods | Quotas, adjustments, and forecast submission history |
| Change the rollup type | Adjustments and forecast submission history |
| Remove the Allow Forecasting permission from a user | Removes all forecasting data for the user, including historical trending data for Forecasting Item |
To disable forecasts, contact Salesforce.
When adjustments are purged from forecasts, the underlying data on which the forecasts are based isn’t affected.
