Build Your Own Custom Reports for Sales Engagement
If the standard reports don’t meet your business needs, you can create additional custom report types to link cadence trackers with leads, contacts, accounts, and other objects. Cadence trackers represent the targets you add to cadences.
Required Editions

| Available with Sales Engagement, which is included with Sales in Performance, Einstein 1, and Unlimited Editions, and available for an extra cost in Professional and Enterprise Editions. Sales Engagement is also available for an extra cost in Service and Lightning Platform. |
Beyond standard reports, there are report types that can be cloned and leveraged to unlock additional fields. A report type defines the set of records and fields available to a report based on the relationships between a primary object and its related objects.
In addition to the standard reports included with Sales Engagement, there are included report types that can be cloned and edited to include additional fields. A report type defines the set of records and fields available to a report based on the relationships between a primary object and its related objects.
If an object you’re interested in isn’t included in the standard reports, you can create a report type to access that object’s fields. Common use cases are:
- Accounts and Cadence Trackers
- Opportunity Contact Roles and Cadence Trackers
- Email Messages with Contacts and Email Messages with Leads (If you don’t use Einstein Activity Capture)
Custom Report Types Included with Sales Engagement
Several custom report types are included with Sales Engagement. Sample reports are available for each report type.

Custom Report Types Administrators Can Create for Sales Engagement
If the included report types don’t meet your business needs, you can create additional custom report types in Setup. These are some examples.

| Accounts + Cadence Trackers | Combining accounts with cadence trackers lets sales managers see which of their person accounts are in a cadence and how each completed it. | Because you can add only person accounts to cadences, the report includes just those accounts. To use this report type, Person Accounts must be enabled in Setup. |
| Opportunity Contact Roles + Cadence Trackers | Combining opportunity contact roles with cadence trackers lets sales managers see which of their opportunity contacts are in a cadence and how each completed it. | -- |
Email Message Report Types
Your admin can create custom report types to display record level detail for individual email sends.
Record-level details include:
- Details of the email, such as to/from/cc and subject/body.
- First open and last open engagements, as well as linked replies.
- Contact or lead details can be included by joining those objects to the report.
Email message records aren’t generated for Einstein Activity Capture-enabled users.
You can create these custom report types in Setup.
