Considerations for Running Outlook Integration and Salesforce for Outlook (Retiring)
Simultaneously
While you can enable both the Outlook integration and the
Salesforce for Outlook Side Panel in the same organization, users can’t run both
Microsoft® integration features at the same time.
Required Editions
Outlook integration is available in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience in:
Essentials, Group, Professional, Enterprise, Performance,
Unlimited, and Developer editions.
Salesforce for Outlook is available in
Salesforce Classic.
To prevent your users from juggling multiple email integration features, Salesforce
automatically disconnects the Salesforce for Outlook side panel when users connect
using Outlook integration. Folks who use Outlook integration can still download, install, and
sync with Salesforce for Outlook, but only the Outlook integration panel can run in
Outlook.
