          Considerations for Quota Planning

          Set expectations among quota planners so that they have the best experience setting targets in Sales Planning.

          Required Editions

          Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience
          Available for an additional cost in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Sales Planning in English only, and only if you have Web Services API enabled

          Achieving Optimal System Performance

          For the best experience:

          • Add up to 500 territories per segment.
          • Include up to 5 territory levels.
          • Add up to 20 columns in quota plans.

          Planning Quotas with Targets

          Anticipate differences when you create quota plans with targets.

          • Product columns that appear in quota plans don’t count against the allocation of 20 columns.
          • For sales plans created in Winter ’26 and later, adding, editing and deleting quota columns isn’t available. Instead, use product-specific columns for quotas.
