Create Documents and Send Approvals More Efficiently

Create documents, set approval routing, get documents approved, and track document statuses, all in one place. Salesforce Spiff now includes a document composer where you can create documents from scratch or copy them from another source. Documents can also use merge fields for showing user-specific data. A new, more detailed approval routing process is separate from the document templates, so one document template can go through multiple approval routes.

How: Click the Documents tab and create a template.

See Document and Document Templates in Salesforce Spiff.

Preview and Modify Large Reports and Dashboards More Efficiently

Spend less time generating and tweaking the data and filters in large reports and dashboards. The new preview mode includes only the first 1,000 rows of data in a report or dashboard, which helps improve performance and lets you make adjustments to the report criteria more easily.

How: Turn on Preview Data in the upper right of a report or dashboard.

See Considerations for Creating and Managing Reports in Salesforce Spiff.

Add Context to Custom Reports and Dashboards

Make reports and dashboards in Spiff easier to identify with custom descriptions. Add descriptions when you’re creating or editing a report.

How: Open the report and click the Description field under the title.

Enjoy Usability Enhancements on the Data Sources Page

Navigate, search for fields, or perform overwrites more easily with the improved user experience on the Data Sources page. Explore data sources more efficiently and maintain a full audit trail.

How: Go to the Data Sources tab and select an object under a data source.

          Gain Clarity about Licenses Used

Find information about how many Spiff licenses are used quickly. The Users table in Mass Data Management now provides a real-time notification for how many commissioned license seats are provisioned for Spiff users who aren't Salesforce admins.

How: From the Admin menu, select Users.

Explore Data Relationships with More Clarity

Navigate relationships between objects in Designer more efficiently. The enhanced data relationship viewer now provides a smoother experience for large data sets and complex relationships.

View Plan Payout Totals More Easily

Calculate the total amount of unhidden payout rules on a plan with fewer clicks. The Plans page now includes a summary row that automatically sums a plan's total payout. The Plans page also shows a new visual indicator for hidden plans that aren't included in the summary.

Create and Iterate on Plans More Smoothly

Generate reports, experiment with new rules, perform mid-year changes, or prepare plans in advance without interrupting your active plans, rules, and statements. When you create a plan in Designer, the plan is hidden by default.

How: To unhide a plan, toggle the eye icon on the plan.

See Hidden Plans in Salesforce Spiff.
