Requirements and Considerations for Setting Up Sales Insights
Before setting up Sales Insights, take into account these requirements and considerations.
Requirements for Role Hierarchy and Row-Level Security (RLS)
Data 360 and Tableau Next support role hierarchy and row-level security. These data policies must be set up on the data model objects (DMO) in Data Governance in Data 360as a prerequisite to app setup.
Role hierarchy must be set up with at least two layers. For example, you can have at least one Sales Manager and one Sales Rep. For more information about creating role-based access for Data 360 objects, see Create a Role-Based Access Control Policy in Data Cloud.
For more information about row-level security, see Add Row-Level Security with a Data Governance Policy.
Requirements for Forecast and Quota Data
The Forecast version of Sales Insights has dashboards that are populated with forecast data from Salesforce Forecasting, a feature of Sales. Salesforce Forecasting must be enabled and configured to use the Forecast version of Sales Insights. For more information, see Salesforce Forecasting.
When you set up Salesforce Forecasting, you create and activate a forecast type. The Forecast version of Sales Insights supports the Opportunity forecast type with Role Hierarchy. Territory forecasts and Opportunity split-based forecasts aren’t supported.
- For a role hierarchy-based forecast, go to Setup > Forecasts Hierarchy and assign forecast managers to at least two layers.
- Go to Forecasts > Quota and load at least one quota value for your forecast type. The measure you use in your forecast type must have historical trending enabled on the opportunity object.
Requirements to Use a Standard Fiscal Year
If you use a standard fiscal year, be sure to enable the fiscal year configuration for Data 360.
Considerations for Multicurrency
Multicurrency isn’t currently supported.
Considerations for Data Spaces
You can install Sales Insights in multiple data spaces. Make sure that the C360 Semantic Model is also installed in the data spaces where you install Sales Insights.
Considerations for Mobile
Use the Salesforce mobile app to view metrics and dashboards on mobile.
Localization Considerations
Runtime localization limitations for Included Apps, also known as Tableau Next Apps for Salesforce, are covered in Tableau Next Considerations, Guidelines, and Limits.
