Step 2 for setting up Sales Insights is to deploy the data kits for the data you want to
use. You have the option to base Sales Insights upon Opportunity-based data, or if you have
enabled Forecasting in your org, you can base Sales Insights upon Forecasting data.

Important If you have not yet installed the Sales Cloud package, first
follow the standard process for installing a package. For more information, see Installing Packages.
Data kits support the creation
of data stream bundles and include data model customization and relationships. For
Sales Insights, deploy the Sales Insights Data Kit, which includes DMOs
and other assets for Sales Insights without forecasting. For Sales Insights with
Forecasting, deploy the Forecasting Data Kit and the Unmanaged Data Kit, which
includes history and trending DMOs and other assets for forecasting.
Note Forecasting and
Unmanaged Data Kits become available when Forecasting is enabled in your org.
On the Sales Insights Setup page, at step 2, deploy either the Sales Insights Data Kit or
the Forecasting and Unmanaged Data Kits.
For Sales Insights without forecasting, deploy the Sales Insights Data Kit.
Click Deploy Data Kit.
On the Sales Insights Data Kit page, click Data Kit
Deploy.
For Sales Insights with Forecasting, deploy both the Forecasting Data Kit and the
Unmanaged Data Kit.
Next to Forecasting Data Kit, click Deploy Data Kit.
On the Forecasting Data Kit page, click Data Kit Deploy.
Return to the Sales Insights Setup page. Next to Unmanaged Data Kit, click
Install.
Select Install for All Users, and then click
Install.
On the HD Object Data Kit page, click Data Kit Deploy.
Allow some time for the deployment to create all of the needed components.
To view the data kit details, go to Setup > Data Cloud Setup > Feature Management >
Developer Tools, and select Data Kits. Click the name of your data kit,
and then click the tab with the name of your Sales Insights instance.
Return to the Sales Insights Setup page to continue setting up Sales Insights.
