Copying a Plan
To copy a plan, in the Plans tab, hover over the plan’s name, click the three dots, and select Copy Plan. When you copy a plan, any rules associated with that plan are also copied.
The duplicated plan appears in the left panel. The original name is retained with Copy appended at the end. To rename the plan, click the three dots and select Rename Plan.
The assigned reps aren’t duplicated. Assign reps to the newly copied plan.
When you copy an entire plan, the rules are duplicated from the original plan. The calculations and logic remain identical to those of the original rules. Consequently, modifying the logic of the duplicated rule also impacts the logic of the original rule. Folders or elements nested under the copied plan aren’t replicated. The copying process pertains to the plan itself, not its nested elements.
Sharing a Payout Rule
In Spiff Designer, there isn’t a direct option to copy a payout rule from one plan to another. However, you can share payout rules across plans. Go to the plan where you want to include the existing payout rule. Click New Payout Rule and enter the original name of the payout rule you want to share from another plan.
These considerations apply when you share a payout rule.
- When sharing payout rules, the payout amount is automatically applied.
- When deleting a shared payout rule, you can delete it permanently or remove it from the plan. If you delete permanently, the rule is removed from all plans where it’s used. To remove a rule from the plan, right-click the number next to the payout rule and select Remove From Plan.
Copying a Datasheet Calculation
To copy a datasheet calculation, click the dropdown arrow on the calculation name bar and select Copy Field.
The duplicated datasheet calculation is visible on the datasheet with an identical name and calculation, but with Copy appended at the end.
To incorporate this calculation into any datasheet, go to the datasheet, click the + button, and enter the name of the recently duplicated calculation.
You can also find your copied datasheet calculation in the Data tab under Fields on the appropriate object.
Copying a Worksheet Calculation
To copy a worksheet calculation, right-click the calculation in the worksheet and select Copy.
Copying a Filter
To copy a data filter, go to Filters in the Data tab and locate the filter in the left panel. Click the three dots next to the filter and select Copy Filter.
The copied filter is visible in the left panel. The original name is retained with Copy appended at the end.
