Recalculating Statements in Salesforce Spiff Designer

Recalculating Statements in Salesforce Spiff Designer

To decrease the time required to recalculate statements in bulk in Salesforce Spiff, you can recalculate statements in Designer and specify the periods, plans, teams, and rep to recalculate.

          Required Editions

Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Available for an additional cost in: Professional Edition with Web Services API Enabled

Spiff automatically recalculates all unfrozen statements every night. However, maybe you want to recalculate statements in bulk immediately, such as when you make a change to the commission plan.

To start a bulk recalculation in Designer, click the Calculate button.

From the dropdown menus, select periods, plans, teams, and reps. The default setting, no selection, results in unfrozen statements from all periods, plans, teams, and reps.

Designer shows the calculation progress. Don't refresh your browser during this process or trigger another statement calculation from another browser window. If there's a delay, Designer shows a Pending status.

If you calculate a statement or group of statements that have errors, review the error messages and locate the specific formula or formulas with the errors. If you prefer to download a .csv file with the errors, clicking the export icon.

          Note
Note In Designer, all calculations execute on-demand in real time, so users can see immediate results. But Designer has limited processing time and larger or more complex calculations can result in a timeout error. Statements have different processing time limits, so to see quicker results for updated Designer calculations, you can try recalculating and refreshing a statement.
