User Permissions Needed
To generate a commission for an opportunity:
(Salesforce) Commission Estimator User or Commission Estimator Admin permission set
Create an opportunity.
Some commissions depend on certain field values, such as the opportunity type or contract length. See Opportunity Fields.
The Commission Estimator app opens in the opportunity's right panel.
Add products to the opportunity.
In the Commission Estimator app, click Products and select Add Products.
Select the product lines that apply to the opportunity, and then click Next.
If necessary, edit the selected products, and make sure that each product has a quantity.
Save your changes.
After you generate a commission estimate, editing the opportunity refreshes the estimate, so you can update the estimate for adjustments made to the opportunity during the sales cycle.
