Import Currency Rates in Salesforce Spiff
If you don't sync currency rates from Salesforce in Salesforce Spiff, you can specify your own conversation rate from your corporate currency setting in Spiff to other currencies. Download, modify, and upload a template currency rate file.

- From the Admin menu in Spiff, select Users.
- Click Currency Rates.
- Click the Upload icon.
- In the window that opens, download the example file.

Edit the example file you downloaded.
Field Required? Description external_id Required A unique ID for the currency rate record. We recommend that you follow the pattern where you concatenate effective_as_of date with currency_code. If you reuse an external ID, the existing record with this ID is replaced. from_currency_code Required An ISO 4217 three-letter currency code that matches your corporate currency. For supported currency codes, see Currency in Salesforce Spiff. currency_code Required An ISO 4217 three-letter currency code for the currency that you're converting to. For supported currency codes, see Currency in Salesforce Spiff. effective_as_of Required The date when the currency rate goes into effect. Use YYYY-MM-DD format. rate Required The conversation rate from the corporate currency to the currency that currency_code specifies. The value can include a decimal point. rate_type Optional Reserved for future use. Leave this field blank.
Tip If you edit the example file in Microsoft Excel, take care that dates are formatted YYYY-MM-DD. If Excel changes the format automatically, revert the format by placing a ' mark at the front of the date. For example, the 1/1/2025 date can be updated to the correct format by entering '2025-01-01 in the cell.
Important Don’t change any field names or the name of the conversion_rates tab. - Browse to or drag the downloaded file that you edited, and upload it to Spiff.
The currency records are added to the table. You can use these currency notes when specifying a rep’s preferred currency, and you can reference them in quota tables. If the uploaded file contains errors, Spiff doesn’t import the records with errors.
