            Plan Assignment External IDs in Salesforce Spiff

            In Salesforce Spiff, the external ID field on a plan assignment supports bulk uploading and updating of plan assignments with Mass Data Management.

            Required Editions

            Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience
            Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
            Available for an additional cost in: Professional Edition with Web Services API Enabled
            • External ID values must be unique.
            • You can add an external ID only to plan assignments that don't have one.
            • To help avoid errors, an external ID in a plan assignment table is permanent.
            • If you create a plan assignment from the Plans page or with the uploader and you leave the external ID blank, you can still edit the plan assignment.
            • After you assign an external ID, the ID is always required for future updates with the uploader.
            • If you create a plan assignment with the uploader and specify an external ID, always use the same external ID for future updates.
