          Create a What-If? Rule

          Create a What-If? Rule

Motivate reps to close deals with What-If? rules. Show reps potential commission earnings when they meet the criteria you define in your data filter. For example, let reps see the commission they can earn if they close all pipeline deals for the period.

          Designer Configuration: Manage

          Note
Note What-If? rule amounts don’t affect a rep’s commission total.
          1. In Designer, create a data filter that determines which records to include, such as a specific deal stage or date range.
PendingClosure AND ByRep AND NewType AND EffectiveDates

          2. Create a datasheet to calculate the commission amount. For payout rules where the rep earns commission deal-by-deal or line-by-line, select the data filter you created from the right panel.
Selecting the data filter applies the formula you define to only the records that meet the parameters of the data filter.
          3. Enter the formula that calculates PendingCommissionPayout, the potential commission the rep is paid if the deals close.

          4. On the plan where you want to add the What-If? rule, click New Payout Rule.
          5. Name your payout rule and add the field that the payout amount is coming from.
          6. With the correct payout rule selected, turn on What-If?.
