Sandboxes and Change Sets in Salesforce Spiff
A Salesforce Spiff sandbox provides a trusted, low-risk environment that’s independent from your production environment. You can update commission logic and test new features without affecting your production environment. After validation, use a change set to deploy the updates to a parent or production environment.
- Create a Sandbox in Salesforce Spiff
Create a sandbox to test new features without affecting your production environment. The sandbox replicates the parent environment’s features, custom roles, underlying rules, and reporting structures, but it doesn’t include users, assignments, statements, connector secret keys or other sensitive data, or synced transactional data. You can create two sandboxes for each production environment. - Manage User Access to a Salesforce Spiff Sandbox
Control who can access a Spiff sandbox. You can’t access a sandbox with the Spiff mobile app. - Create a Change Set in Salesforce Spiff
Use a change set to deploy updates from a sandbox to your production or parent environment. - Validate and Submit a Change Set in Salesforce Spiff
Before submitting a change set to the production environment, validate the change set to check for potential issues that prevent Spiff from merging the changes. However, validating a change set doesn’t verify that the changes result in calculable commission statements. Before submitting your change set, select the necessary dependent items. If you don’t include the dependencies, calculation errors can occur. After you test your changes, submit the change set for approval and deployment. - Review Submitted Change Sets in Salesforce Spiff
Review submitted changes to the parent environment and test, reject, or approve the change set for deployment. - Deploy a Change Set in Salesforce Spiff
After you validate and approve your changes, deploy them to the production environment. You can deploy only one change set at a time. Deploy subsequent change sets only after the prior deployment completes. - Manage Sandbox and Deployment Activity in Salesforce Spiff
Track the status of your sandbox environments, review the history of changes, and monitor usage limits. Download change set details for audit records and to troubleshoot issues. - Delete a Sandbox in Salesforce Spiff
Deleting a sandbox permanently removes all data in the sandbox. You can’t delete a sandbox that has a subordinate sandbox. - Considerations for Salesforce Spiff Sandboxes and Change Sets
When working with Salesforce Spiff sandboxes and change sets, keep these considerations in mind.
