Considerations for Logging in to Salesforce Spiff

Considerations for Logging in to Salesforce Spiff

When a user signs in, Spiff checks whether their credentials are associated with single sign-on (SSO) or multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems. Troubleshoot the login flow for any users who are experiencing login issues.

          Required Editions

Available in: both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Available for an additional cost in: Professional Edition with Web Services API Enabled

          Login URL

The URL in the original invitation email is used only for setting up a user's password for the first time.

After creating their password, users log in to the appropriate URL, depending on your region.

          • If you’re in the US, go to us1.spiff.com/login.
          • If you’re in the EU, go to eu1.spiff.com/login.

          Login Flow

Spiff follows this logic when a user logs in.

          Step Behavior
1 Spiff verifies that the user is an active user of the company. If they aren't an active user, authentication fails.
2 Spiff checks whether the user's company has SSO configured. If the user tries to log in to Spiff without using SSO, Spiff notifies the user to log in with SSO instead.
3 If the email address isn't associated with a company that has SSO configured, Spiff authenticates the email address and password.
4 If the user's company has MFA configured, Spiff requires the user to log in with MFA.
5 After authentication, Spiff logs the user in to a company that they have an active login record for. If the user has a login record for more than one company, Spiff can log them into any company they belong to.

          Session Duration

For a user who logs in with a Spiff username and password or who logs in through SSO, their session length is 24 hours.

If a user who logs in with a Spiff username and password turns on Remember Me on the login screen, their login session is extended for 21 days.

          Password Reset

A user who logs in with a Spiff username and password must reset their password every 90 days. To reset a password, select Change Password from personal settings under your Spiff user profile.

          System Activity Log

The System Activity Log tracks successes and failures for both username and password logins and SSO logins, including both web app logins and mobile logins.
