          Activate a Service Document Template

          Activate a Service Document Template

To create service documents and PDFs with Document Builder, activate a template.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience.
The Field Service core features, managed package, and mobile app are available in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.
          User Permissions Needed
To activate service document templates: Document Builder
          1. In Document Builder, after you’ve built your first template for a work order, work order line item, or service appointment, click Save.
          2. Activate the template. If you’ve saved the template and dismissed the activation window, you can get to it by clicking Activation.
          3. Click Assign and save your work.
Your template is assigned as the default. Assigning a different template as the default overrides prior default template assignments. Only one default template per object can exist at a time.
            Note
Note You can control which template is used to generate a service document, but you can have only one active default template per object. This template is used if you don’t specify any other template in the Service Document Template field or in the Work Type. To assign a record-specific template, enter the template ID in the Service Document Template field on that record.
