            Set Up Scheduling and Optimization Insights

            Install and configure the Scheduling and Optimization Insights app to get real-time visibility into the usage, performance, and business outcomes of automated scheduling.

            In Setup, click Salesforce Go at the top of the Setup menu. Then, search for Field Service. Click the Enhanced Scheduling & Optimization for Home Org tile.

            Prepare to Install

            For optimal data analysis, make sure all Data Cloud requirements are met before proceeding with the app installation.

            • Service Data Kit: Install or update to version 7.0.
            • Data Space Setup: Create data streams in your designated data space by using the Service, Field Service Related, and Field Service Core Data Bundles.
            • Managed Package Objects: Make sure that data stream creation is complete for all Salesforce Field Service managed package objects.

            Assign User Permissions

            To ensure the right team members have access, click Manage.

            • Select a Permission Set: Choose between Tableau Next Limited Consumer (for read-only access to freemium apps) or Data Cloud User.
            • Filter and Find: Use the Users filter to view "All" users or those already "Assigned."
            • Grant Access: Select the checkbox next to the user’s name and click Assign. Keep an eye on your license count. The dashboard shows exactly how many seats you have available versus assigned.

            Install Field Service Scheduling & Optimization Insights

            Under Install Field Service Scheduling & Optimization Insights, click Manage.

            • Set up Data Cloud:
              • Data Space: Select the data space for your app.
              • Standard Rates & Factors: Enter your organization-level constants.
                • Average Technician Hourly Pay Rate (required): The fully burdened hourly cost (salary + benefits) of a field resource. Used to calculate the monetary value of technician hours saved.
                • Average Distance Cost Per Unit (required): The average cost of fuel and maintenance per unit of distance (for example, cost per mile or kilometer).
                • Average Fuel Efficiency (required): The average miles per gallon or Kilometers per Liter across your service vehicle fleet.
            • Enter details about the install:
              • App Name: Provide a unique name for this installation instance.
              • Description: Add details such as the installation date, version, or intended business unit.
              • Log Level: Adjust the level of details to include more information.
