Sync Your Mobile Metrics: Run Your Mobile Batch Data Transform

Sync Your Mobile Metrics: Run Your Mobile Batch Data Transform

Complete the setup of Mobile Insights by running batch data transforms to sync and activate your application versions and device models data.

The batch data transform processes your app version and device model data to create real-time metrics for field service admins.

Step One: Choose your Data Sync Method

Select a sync method based on your business needs.

First, choose the run type that fits your data volume:

          • Incremental mode: Use this default mode to process only new data and save resources.
          • Full mode: Use this mode for a complete refresh. The system runs this under specific conditions, but you can force a Full run manually. Review the Batch Transform Run Types for details.

Next, decide how frequently you want the data to update:

          • Run On-Demand: Choose this option to populate the app right away for testing or deployment.
          • Automate with Schedules: Choose this option to set up an ongoing routine so technicians always have fresh data without manual effort.

Step Two: Run your Batch Data Transform

Organizations with multiple installed instances of the app have multiple versions of these transforms. To avoid running the wrong instance and incurring unnecessary data charges, always use the content from your latest successful app installation.

          • Find your specific batch data transforms: Navigate to Setup > App Hub > Apps, then click on your specific app to identify the correct instance name.
          • Open the matching transforms in Data Cloud: Go to Data Cloud > Data Transforms and select the transforms that match your verified instance name from either the list view or the detail page.
          • Activate the transforms: Activate both the All App Versions and All Device Models transforms for that specific instance. Depending on your needs, you can run a data transform on-demand for immediate updates or learn how to schedule a batch transform for automated routines.

          Step Three: Monitor for Success

Track your data flow through the built-in monitoring system. Review the documentation to monitor your transform status for health, history, and current states. Verify that the status shows Success to confirm your data is in the Mobile Insights app.
