Set Up the Employee Services Portal Site

Set Up the Employee Services Portal Site

Set up an Employee Services portal to provide a self-service experience for your employees. Assign the required permissions, create the site, add users, set up the service catalog, and configure additional portal features.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service.
          • Set Up Permission Sets and Access for the Employee Services Portal
Before you set up your Employee Services portal site, enable the org-level features the portal depends on. Then assign employees a license and the permission sets that give them access to the IT service records and features they need.
          • Create and Publish an Employee Services Portal Site
Build and customize the Experience Cloud site that hosts the Employee Services portal. Choose from the Agentforce Employee Center template or the Agentic Center template for IT Services. These templates provide preconfigured pages and components for IT Services to help you set up your site.
          • Create Employee Users for the Employee Services Portal
Create the employee users who sign in to the Employee Services portal site, using either the Unified Employee License or the Customer Community Plus license.
          • Modify Page Layouts for the Employee Services Portal
On Employee Services portal sites, control which fields and buttons employees see on Incident and Case detail pages by customizing page layouts and setting field-level security. These page layouts apply to the Agentic Center template, and to the Agentforce Employee Center template after you enable custom page layouts on the Ticket Details component.
          • Set Up Service Catalog for the Employee Services Portal
The Employee Services portal ships with a Service Catalog page on both the Agentic Center and Agentforce Employee Center templates. Configure the Unified Catalog component on the page to show your IT service offerings to employees.
          • Set Up Manager Approvals for the Employee Services Portal
Some employee requests in the Employee Services portal need manager approval. Configure manager approvals so that case actions follow your company's policies. This setup applies to both the Agentic Center and Agentforce Employee Center templates.
          • Integrate Embedded Messaging into the Employee Services Portal
Integrate an embedded messaging component into your Employee Services portal so employees can chat with Agentforce directly from the portal. This integration applies to both the Agentic Center and Agentforce Employee Center templates.
          • Configure the Agentforce Employee Center Portal
Complete the configuration tasks that are specific to the Agentforce Employee Center template, such as adding Policy Hub and Evidence Hub tiles.
          • Configure the Agentic Center Portal
Complete the configuration tasks that are specific to the Agentic Center template, such as configuring global search.
