Release Management Permissions for IT Services

Assign the necessary permission sets or permission set groups to users, based on their roles and responsibilities in your IT service team.

Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with Agentforce IT Service.

You can assign permissions in two ways:

Option	What it Provides	How to Assign
Permission sets	Access to specific objects, fields, and features.	Add permission sets to users individually, based on their role.
Permission set groups	A bundled set of related permission sets aligned to a role.	Assign a permission set group to the user for role-based access.

Permission Sets

These permission sets are available for Release Management.

Permission Set	Description
Release Manager	Provides access to create, read, edit, and delete releases.
Release Group	Provides read access to release records and fields.
IT Service Release Deleter	Gives users access to delete release records for IT services.
IT Service Release Associations Viewer	Gives users access to view release association records for IT services.
IT Service Incident and Release Associator	Gives users access to add or remove incident records and release association records for IT services.
IT Service Problem and Release Associator	Gives users access to add or remove problem records and release association records for IT services.
IT Service Change Request and Release Associator	Gives users access to add or remove change records and release association records for IT services.

To simplify role-based access, use these predefined permission set groups.

Permission Set Group	Description
ReleaseManagerPSG	Combines permission sets that allow full release management, including creating, editing, deleting releases, and associating them with incidents, problems, and changes. Also provides read access to configuration items linked to releases and the ability to view and manage release dashboards.
ReleaseGroupPSG	Combines permission sets that allow read access to release records and associations. Also provides read access to configuration items linked to releases and the ability to view release dashboards.
