Grounding Data Quality
The quality of a generative AI summary depends on the quality and completeness of the
grounding data. Summary generation can fail or produce low-quality results when the fields
selected in Service AI Grounding do not contain sufficient content. Rich-text fields that
contain the main body of a knowledge article, such as Article_Body__c or Details__c, provide
more reliable grounding data for summary generation. Fields that contain only short text, such
as a title or abstract, can result in incomplete or unavailable summaries.
LWR Connect API Performance Setting
The Knowledge Article Summary component might not function correctly on LWR Experience Cloud
sites when the Improve Performance of Connect APIs in your LWR Sites setting is enabled. This
setting can affect the component’s ability to retrieve or generate AI-generated summaries.
Proper operation of the Knowledge Article Summary component requires the Improve Performance of
Connect APIs in your LWR Sites setting to remain disabled in the Administration settings of the
site’s Workspaces.
Knowledge Article Summary Field Priority
The Summary field on the Knowledge Article Version determines whether the Knowledge Article
Summary component displays a manually entered summary or an AI-generated summary. When the
Summary field contains a value, the component shows the existing value instead of generating an
AI summary. The system generates an AI summary using the Summarize Knowledge Article prompt
template only when the Summary field is empty. When the Summary field is empty, the system
determines the summary based on the following priority:
A previously generated AI summary stored in the system
A new AI-generated summary created using the Summarize Knowledge Article prompt
template
Experience Cloud sites show AI-generated summaries only when the Summary field on the
knowledge article remains empty.
Workaround
A value in the Summary field prevents the Knowledge Article
Summary component from generating an AI summary. Removal of the value in the Summary field
enables the system to generate or retrieve an AI-generated summary based on the configured
Summarize Knowledge Article prompt template. Republishing the article might be required after
the value is removed.
