            Learn About Briefcase Types

            The Salesforce Field Service mobile app uses different types of Briefcases to support offline work. This table can help you decide which type of Briefcase is best suited for your business needs.

            Briefcase type When to Use Editions Prerequisites *Briefcase and record limits availability
            Standard Briefcase For general offline data needs and typical record limits. Standard Briefcase is the default Briefcase type. Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions None 5 active Briefcases and up to 50,000 records primed per user. Currently available in the Field Service mobile app, Salesforce Mobile App Plus, and custom-built apps with the Briefcase Sync down target.
            Profile Briefcase Automatically created as part of the Performance Priming feature. These Briefcases can be viewed to see what data will be primed by the Field Service mobile app. Enterprise,Unlimited and Developer Editions Orgs must be on the Winter ‘26 release. Performance Priming must be enabled. Briefcases are automatically generated for up to 50 profiles that have active users and at least one user assigned the Field Service Mobile License. Up to 100,000 unique records primed per user. Currently available only on the Field Service mobile app.
            High-Volume Briefcase When the Standard Briefcase limit is insufficient and you need to configure a higher volume of records for offline use. Unlimited and Performance Editions Orgs must be on the Winter ‘26 release. Performance Priming must be enabled. 5 active Briefcases per org and up to 400,000 records primed per user. Currently available only in the Field Service mobile app.

            *How Record Limits Are Counted for Different Briefcase Types

            • Standard and High Volume Briefcase (HVB): Duplicate records are not removed. If the same record meets the criteria for multiple briefcase rules, it counts as a separate record for each rule. For example, if Rule A includes account "Apple" and Rule B also includes account "Apple," this single account record counts as two records toward the 50K/400K limits.
            • Profile Briefcases: Duplicate records are removed. A unique record only counts once, regardless of how many rules it satisfies. For example, account "Apple" counts as one record toward the 100K limit, even if returned by multiple rules.
