Same Site Service Objective
Use the Field Service Same Site objective to make sure a minimal number of mobile workers visit the same location by scheduling service appointments located at the same site together. For example, scheduling appointments for the same location with the same service resource can save time and effort and can eliminate the need for multiple trips.

The Same Site objective prefers scheduling service appointments with the same location consecutively in the same shift to the same resource. Maximize productivity and reduce travel time by defining exactly how service appointments are grouped at a single location: either within a close vicinity of up to one second of travel time (default), or by identical latitude and longitude coordinates. For complex sites such as campuses or farms, where multiple appointments exist without traditional connecting roads, select Use Exact Location. For example, with exact location matching, you can make sure your mobile worker first completes all service appointments in building A within a campus, before moving on to building B nearby. In Setup, add the Use Exact Location field to your Same Site service objective page layout and confirm that this page layout is assigned to the Same Site record type.
To strictly enforce grouping service appointments, use Appointment Bundling. This functionality combines appointments into one entity so that they’re always scheduled with the same service resource in one trip. However, in some scenarios you can prefer not to schedule appointments at the same location together at the same time. For example, if one of the appointments has a preference for a specific service resource but the same service resource isn’t skilled for the other appointments. In this case, implementing a Same Site objective as a scheduling preference balanced with other objectives is a better option. The scheduling engine can schedule all jobs at the same location together while preventing any appointment that requires a separate service resource from being scheduled at the same time. The Appointment Bundler is a more rigid tool that groups appointments at the same location for scheduling together, whereas the Same Site objective is more flexible. Each solution has its benefits.
When You’re Using Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization
The Same Site objective in a policy penalizes service appointments that aren’t scheduled together at the same location, if multiple appointments are at the same longitude and latitude, or within close proximity of up to one second travel. The penalty is determined by the ratio of the same-site appointments not scheduled together versus the total number of same-site appointments in the request that can be scheduled together. To calculate the resulting score for the schedule of an appointment, this ratio is then multiplied by the weight of the Same Site objective in the scheduling policy, and then multiplied again by 100 to amplify the bonus of scheduling same-site appointments together.
