Customize Additional Chat Branding
Set the base font size, width and height, and images for your Embedded Chat deployment.

Important
Legacy Chat will be retired on February 14, 2026. To avoid service interruptions to your end users, switch to enhanced Chat (formerly Messaging for In-App and Web). Enhanced Chat offers many of the legacy Chat features that you love plus asynchronous conversations that can be picked back up at any time. Learn about migrating in Help and Trailhead.
- From Setup, enter Embedded Service in the Quick Find box, then select Embedded Service.
- Select the Embedded Service deployment that you want to work with by clicking the arrow beside the deployment name and selecting View.
- Click Edit next to Chat Settings.
- In the Additional branding section, click Edit.

In the Images & Dimensions tab, set your chat images:
- Agent Avatar (40 px by 40 px)
- Logo (36 px by 36 px)
- Pre-Chat Background (320 px by 100 px)
- Waiting State (250 px by 60 px)
- Set the width and height of your chat window. If you don’t make any changes, the default sizes of 320 px and 498 px are used.
- Set the base font size for your chat window.
- Click Finish to close the window.

The primary language for a chat window is set in your embedded code snippet. An extra step in Translation Workbench is required for custom labels or platform-only languages.
