Export a Report
You can export report data to a spreadsheet.

- When exporting a report in Salesforce Classic using the Details Only option or in Lightning Experience as an XLS or CSV file, you can export an unlimited number of rows and columns. However, most spreadsheet tools have row and column limits. Common limits are 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns, or 65,536 rows by 256 columns.
- When exporting a matrix report in Lightning Experience using the Formatted Report option, you can export up to 2,000 rows and 100 columns. When exporting a tabular or summary report in Lightning Experience using the Formatted Report option or as an XLSX file using the Details Only option, you can export up to 100,000 rows and 100 columns. Long text and rich text fields are truncated to 255 characters. The performance for a large export varies depending on where your org resides, the time of the day, the CPU utilization, and the characteristics of the report.
Export a Report in Lightning Experience

From the Reports or Analytics tab or from the report run page, click
and select Export.

Select an export view.
Formatted Report Export the report as it appears in Salesforce, with the report header, groupings, and filter details. You can export the data only to an .xlsx file. Details Only Export each row without formatting. Use this option if you want to do calculations in the spreadsheet. If you're exporting to an .xls or .csv file, select the encoding option appropriate for your language and locale.

Click Export.
If you don't have the export option, ask your Salesforce admin for help.
- If prompted, select a location and save the file.
Export a Report in Salesforce Classic

From Reports, next to the report that you want to export, click
, and select Export.
If you set the “Don't save encrypted pages to disk” option in Internet Explorer, you can’t open your report online in Excel. Instead, save the exported report to your computer, and then open it in Excel. To change this setting in Internet Explorer, deselect “Don't save encrypted pages to disk” under Internet options.
- Select an encoding appropriate for your language.
- Select the file type that you want to export to.

Click Export.

- If prompted, select a location and save the file.
