Browse, Search, and View Analytics in Slack
Find all your analytics items in the CRM Analytics for Slack app and in your channel. In the app, your top items appear on the Home tab. In your channels, you can access analytics items using slash commands.
Recents and Favorites
The Home tab in the CRM Analytics for Slack app shows your top three recent items and top three favorite items from Lightning Reports and Dashboards and CRM Analytics.
To view more from the Home tab or to view recents or favorites in your channels, type slash command /analytics-recents or /analytics-favorites in the message field. Or, click the + plus icon at the left of the message field to open the shortcuts menu.
These actions are available for recent and favorite items:
- To open an item in Salesforce, click its name.
- To open a menu with actions such as view details and share, click the three dots next to an item’s name.
Search
Search for items by name in the CRM Analytics for Slack app or in your channels.
To search for analytics items, type slash command /analytics-search plus the search term, for example /analytics-search open deals. Or, click the + plus icon at the left of the message field to open the shortcuts menu.
These actions are available for items returned by a search.
- To open an item in Salesforce, click its name.
- To open a menu with actions such as view details and share, click the three dots next to an item’s name.
View Details
When you get a message about an analytics item, whether in the CRM Analytics for Slack app or in your channels, you can view more information about it. To view details about an item:
- Click the three dots next to an item to open its action menu.
- Select View Details.
Depending on the item, from the details view, you can share, view a snapshot of the item, subscribe to it, or download it as a .pdf file.
View Snapshot
Wherever an analytics item is listed, you can see a snapshot view of it. The snapshot is created by running the analytics item with the latest data and capturing your view of it.
To open the snapshot view:
- Click the three dots next to an item to open its action menu.
- Select View Snapshot.
- If the item is a dashboard that has saved views, select the view to snapshot.
The snapshot is posted in your CRM Analytics for Slack app Messages tab. Depending on the item, from the snapshot view, you can share, subscribe, or download it as a .pdf file.
Download as PDF
Download CRM Analytics dashboards and lenses and Lightning reports, and view and share the .pdf files in Slack. Analytics items are downloaded as accessible .pdf files, created by running the analytics item with the latest data and capturing your view of it. In addition to a snapshot image of the item, the accessible .pdf file includes the data behind each of the item's visualizations and KPIs in screen-reader friendly, tabular format.
To create a PDF:
- Click the three dots next to a CRM Analytics dashboard, lens, or Lightning report to open its action menu. To download a report as a .pdf file, the report must have a chart.
- Select Download as PDF.
The .pdf file is sent to your CRM Analytics for Slack app Messages tab. On the post’s thread, you can click to view the .pdf file in Slack and download it.
