Add the Archive Widget to Lightning Pages

Add the Archive Widget to Lightning Pages

Add an Archive app component, also known as a widget, to Lightning Experience record pages with one of these recommended procedures.

          Note
Note For more information on Lightning pages, see Create and Configure Lightning Experience Record Pages.

          Create a Custom Tag

          1. Drag one of the Archive widgets under Standard Components from the left menu to the newly created custom tab.
          2. Complete the Default Child Objects as required.
            Important
Important A child object appears in Archive component search only if a policy is configured for it.
          3. Save your work.
          4. Click Activation.
The results appear to your users as defined, with an overview of the total number of archived records shown.

To expand the results, click a widget.

For example, if you want Customer Support users to view archived Cases through the Archive Single Objects widget, set Case as the default child object. Only users with a Customer Support profile can see the widget.

          Create a Custom Component

          1. Go to Setup.
          2. Select the Object Manager tab.
          3. Select the object to insert the widget on its page, such as Account.
          4. To access the layout editor, select Lightning Record Pages.
          5. Select the existing record page or create one.
          6. Select Edit.
          7. Select the location to insert the widget on the page.
          8. On the Components toolbar, search and select the Archive Single Object or Archive Multiple Objects widget.
          9. Drag the widget to the location.
          10. Save your work.
          11. Make sure that the page is activated.
          12. To return to the object, click Close.

Archive Widget Access and Download Control

Standard users can't access archived data through the Archive Widget and can encounter a system.security.NoAccessException error.

Optionally, to turn on Archive Widget access, assign the Archive View Archived Records user permission.

          1. In Setup, locate Permission Sets.
          2. Select Archive View Archived Records.
          3. To assign the user permission to relevant users, click Manage Assignments.
          4. Click Add Assignments.
