          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions with the Backup & Recover Data and Backup & Recover Files add-on licenses

After you enable Salesforce Backup & Recover Next, a full backup of your existing data is created and stored. This backup is ready to serve as the base of a restore if there’s an unwanted or unexpected change to your data.

Every day after the initial backup completes, a daily incremental backup runs. This incremental backup records any changes made to your data, including records added, records changed, and records deleted. These changes are compared against the last backup to create a new up-to-date backup, without overwriting or affecting the previous backup. These incremental backups are faster than running a full backup every day and more likely to result in a successful backup that you can use to recover from data loss.

On Sundays, a full backup runs to ensure accuracy. This backup also acts as the base for the backups that follow throughout the week.
